Tessa enjoyed her first field trip ever with school...and Grandma! I was so excited for her to go to the fire station. Her Great-Grandfather and Great-Great Grandfather were both firemen. We were thankful that Gamma Marilyn was able to come to town to join her on her trip! It was interesting to hear that her first concern of the day was the lack of seat belts on the bus. I suppose it was one of those moments when she is learning that all things are not the same, her thoughts of safety were impressive.
Tessa is growing up before our eyes and learning more and more about the World around her. We are trying to find the parent balance, in protecting her, yet letting her discover things as well. I know in my heart that this is going to be ongoing in our journey as parents. Many prayer and confidence that she is in HIS hands, helps in this journey!
It was enjoyable to hear her tell about the day and all that she had learned. She wanted to make sure our family decides on a meeting place if there is a fire. That afternoon, she was able to see some of her learning first hand. The neighbors barn caught fire and there were 4 fire stations represented on our street to put it out. The windy day negatively contributed to the blaze. Luckily, no people or animals were hurt. Tessa's first thought, "we should take them some cookies"....so we made some and did just that (such a giving little one)!
