Daddy of Girls...

Truly....a Daddy to his girls! Kevin has it all figured out. Rule of Life #124 Daddys love their little girls, and can be talked into just about anything!
It helps that Daddy's girls absolutely adore him! Tessa and Ella talked him into beauty shop time. He plays right along with it. He wouldn't have it any other way. What tops it all off for him is that they LOVE to be outside with him getting in the mud and riding on the tractor. Best of all, they cuddle up to him, then it is all over, they have him won over. May joys to the girls.

A Basket Full of Fun!

The sun finally peeked at us on Easter.... He had risen and so has the sun!
We have had many cloudy days lately, and how appropriate that the sun shines on Easter Morning! Tessa was up Bright and Early... we talked her into waiting just a bit longer to go see her Easter Basket in order to wait for Ella....the one who likes to sleep in! The tulips are trying to pop....if they can hold off a little longer, without being picked.... We Love these girls! We headed off to church to celebrate the day! Early Riser....Did I mention we had to hold off Tessa....then she discovered all the joys, including the joy of decorating with Easter Grass! Two girls love their Daddy....need I say more! SO "Hoppy" about their Easter surprises! "Eggs at Grandma's House too!" ....What a busy day! Tess found her Easter Jackpot....Thank you Grandma, Teri, Tony, and Aunt Marilyn we had a wonderful Easter Dinner with all of you!

Can We Build It? Yes, HE can!

The backyard playground project continues....THERE ARE A LOT OF PARTS! We had two little helpers during the day, but their interest was certainly not constant, they just can't wait for it to be done. Kevin is the patient ONE! The directions say, requires, two moderately skilled individuals HA!....he is doing most of the work, and he is beyond moderately skilled....we love our handy man! Thank You Kevin, Thank you Daddy!!

Coloring Eggs and Nails....A "GOOD Friday"

Easter Preparations at their best! It was GREAT having Good Friday off from school, a little treat to be home with the girls all day on a Friday! We slept in a bit, always a joy, enjoyed some relaxing book time and played. Tess had her first attempt at painting her nails, she did well! It was a fun day.
Best of all was the evening egg coloring. Kevin get the award for the most colorful egg! It was messy and it was fun! Our hand might be green for a few days! One of many Easter Traditions to continue. I also LOVE filling the girls baskets, I feel like a little kid again. Most of all it is a season of blessing of the sacrifice that Jesus made for us. "Mommy, I am sad Jesus had to die, that is why we have a cross, but he is in Heaven with Papa isn't he.....Yes, he is Tessa, it is a blessing that they are safe in heaven.....
Easter Blessings!!

Breakfast Time

It is a joy to wake up to these smiling faces! Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. I especially enjoy mornings when I can leisurely cook a healthy breakfast and enjoy it with our family. We certainly have good eaters. With a 2 year old and 4 year old, meals can be well....interesting. At times they can be calm, but usually there is some type of excitement.
Ella has been saying the meal prayer lately..."God is good, thank you for Daddy, Tessa, Mommy, Popsey, Eva, Jaden, Grandma Sherry, Gamma, my cousins....my bike, Zion, the birds, ....it can go in any direction. The other night she said "Thank you for kisses, hugs and Franklin (the turtle she watches on TV).....
Regardless if it is a spill, some one standing on their chair, or an occasional calm meal. I wouldn't change anything. These are special times in our house and I don't want to miss a thing!
We are working on Ellas's etiquette, at least she is not afraid to show how she feels ?!?!
Part of sisterhood!

Have Boots, Will Play.....

Come rain, mud, or spring weather, these girls find a way and a reason to get some fresh air! It does do the body good! It is enjoyable to get some fresh air everyday, there girls have no problem reminding us that it is time to go outside....... Tessa asked if it was time for playing in the water yet. No, but the time will be here before much longer!

"Pet It"...

Ella found herself a new pet, it is slimy and she loved it! But then, she smashed it....our country girl. When she found her worm, that she named....wormy, she was so proud of herself. She walked up to each of us and wanted us to "Pet it", she held it up with such pride!
Her new friend was in her hand for quite some time. She kept looking at it and petting it. Then she moved on to sidewalk chalk and decided that was more fun. When wormy met the chalk it was all over. But Ella did seem to mind, her reply was "Lets go and find anoder one Mom"! Spring is certainly here!

Project Playground!

Here are some highlights of spring break.....
Look at Ella Bear, loving time with Daddy! She is in her element, outside in the dirt, but she is not the only one..... Yikes! Tessa found the mud and the mud found her. It was quite a moment, she was just having a ball, singing, and enjoying her mud bath, she was so proud of herself. It was a very messy sight, You couldn't help but smile and her enjoying herself!
It was a fun "at home" spring break. Time with the girls was the highlight. We enjoyed having
Mom and Dad in town to visit and they helped out on the projects. The tractor certainly got some use putting in fresh mulch....just as the tulips are starting to pop!! We painted Ella's room and started the playground project! Kevin got a lot of dirt work done! It is close to build time. I think the girls thought it would be up in an hour. We told them it will be well worth the wait!!

"Yoga Grandma"

When Grandma and Popsey are in town, there is so much to do..... all types of funny things going on....
Yoga Grandma is in town....lets do some Yoga! Mom told Tessa a while ago about the yoga class that she takes. Tessa wanted to know what that was all about! So, Mom showed her how. That has been months ago and when she sees Grandma she wants to do some "YOGI" as she calls it.
It is certainly "calming" and funny to watch because the girls are so focused on what she is doing. Hmmm? I wonder is there something to all of that, for little ones, who knows what will come next. In the mean time, it is a sight to see, and it is good times with Grandma.... Now Popsey on the other hand, can have the opposite effect...it is play time for sure!

Four Friends Sitting at the Bar...

Are they having simple fun times or what?? Nothing better than friend time and well, ice cream if pretty fun as well. Put them both together and you have a recipe for a fun night!! I love the very different expressions during this candid moment....I think it obvious that the younger of the two were into their ice cream!
